Farusa is a Danish packaging manufacturer that has been around since 1923. With the rise of plastic from the 1960s onwards, they also made Frisbees, plastic crates and these stools inspired by the original design of the Tamtam stool by Henri Massonnet.

Massonnet had designed this removable hourglass-shaped stool as a fishing chair for his design studio STAMP. To store his fishing gear and sit by the water for long hours. He had no idea that his beautiful design would become a design icon of the seventies and is still on display at the MOMA as part of the permanent collection.
